We have no preferences towards
any sources (analysts, shows or newsletters) whatsoever. We monitor any
source that we have access to, and that is likely to make a reasonable
number of recommendations in the future.

Stock
prices
|
Quotes are updated after every
trading session.
|
|
Scouts
|
Scouts are active contributing members of TipsTraders.com.
They report recommendations, confirm or object to reports from other
Scouts, send in pictures, spread the word, etc. Scouts must respect proprietary rights
and comply with copyright laws. However, copyright laws do not cover information itself
and therefore do not prohibit using and describing to others the information on copyrighted pages (the fact/expression dichotomy).

Contributing Members fall into 4 categories:

Scouts
|
Report and confirm tips.
|
|
PowerScouts
|
Scouts with proven reliability. Their reports are entered
directly, i.e. they carry 2 votes.
|
|
Owners
|
Some Tipsters manage their records directly. As Owners only
they can open or close positions. F.ex. Samler is the owner of the Member
Portfolio.
|
|
Administrators
|
Run this site and rule on disputes.
|
|
Additions
|
Our Scouts
report whenever a Tipster features a stock or states a
clearly positive opinion on a stock trade. When the tip is confirmed, the
position is registered in the Tipster's records.
New short positions are only opened, if the
Tipster expects the stock to drop enough to reach the target (normally 15%
gain). A bearish opinion alone is not enough.
New
recommendations made after 11 AM on trading days are entered per the
following trading day with
the most recent close price.
A Tipster can restate a
recommendation as many times as he likes. However, a new position can only
be opened in his name, if the last entry is more than 30 days old.

Exceptions
|
Some Tipsters clearly state that
they favour different parameters. Whenever
non-standard parameters are used this is shown on the record.
The 'Reached' and 'Stopped' statistics are based exclusively on the standard
parameters.

Dividends
|
When a position is closed per above, the open price is recalculated to
properly reflect the total return of the trade.
|
|
Ratings
|
Sources are rated
based upon their relative performance in areas such as annualized return,
open and closed positions, win/lose ratios, etc.
Ratings are only
calculated for lists with open positions. Lists with most recent additions
older than 120 days are not rated.

Member Portfolio
|
This list is
compiled from recent picks from the 15 highest ranked Tipsters. A new long position
is opened when a recommended stock in medium-term uptrend is moving out of over-sold
conditions. A new short position is opened when a stock in medium-term downtrend is
moving out of over-bought conditions.
Proprietary technical analysis is used to pinpoint the exact time of entry. The generic
algorithms are used to determine the time of exit. However, we may decide to exit at
other times, if so prompted by recent or coming events.
Depending on
market conditions and current holdings we may decide to delay or suspend additions.

Consensus List
|
These are stocks
that have recently been recommended by a number (at least 3) of the best
Tipsters. The length of the Tipsters list to compile from and the maximum age
of the recommendation are variable parameters.
